The Lean Black Belt program, which is co-ordinated and offered by the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver and the Leading Edge Group, aims to provide participants with a practical application of Lean tools and techniques within the healthcare sector, as well as developing the appropriate process improvement, leadership, and project management skills to drive the changes that are necessary for a successful Lean transformation.
The program is aimed at doctors, consultants, nurses, administrators, allied health professionals, and other professionals in the healthcare sector who have responsibility for quality or continuous improvement within their organizations and also those who wish to develop knowledge and skills in the area of Lean Healthcare.
It is delivered through a hybrid of traditional distance education and on-line learning. Participants can also register for an instructor-led cohort of the program whereby content is delivered via the aforementioned distance learning medium as well as 10 classroom days over a 5 month period. The 2008 instructor-led cohort will take place at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, commencing on 30th June .
Students who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Daniels College of Business as well as:
- 8 graduate level credits from the Daniels College of Business*
- 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)*
- Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits (Code B units) upon request *
* Students wishing to receive college credit for Black Belt course work need to complete a For Credit application form in addition to the standard registration form.
