This distance learning Lean Healthcare Black Belt program aims to provide participants with a practical application of Lean tools and techniques within the healthcare sector, as well as developing the appropriate process improvement, leadership and project management skills to drive the changes that are necessary for a successful Lean transformation.
The program is aimed at doctors, consultants, nurses, administrators, allied health professionals and other professionals in the healthcare sector who have responsibility for quality or continuous improvement within their organizations and also those who wish to further develop knowledge and skills in the area of Lean Healthcare.
The program is delivered through a hybrid of traditional distance education and on-line learning. Web-hosted interactive workshops will also be scheduled throughout the program. Time will also be allocated during these workshops to review progress of Lean Healthcare Black Belt projects.
Module notes and case studies are accessed and downloaded via an on-line Learning Management System (LMS) portal. Some of the resources in the reading list will also be accessible here.
Entry to the program is based on a relevant primary degree/recognized professional qualification or a portfolio of evidence (relevant prior qualifications / placation of learning or competence) and 3 years relevant healthcare experience. Two references from appropriate signatories in the candidate’s organization will be accepted as evidence. Candidates may be required to be present for a phone interview prior to enrolling on the program.
