Leading Edge Group Senior Lean Healthcare Consultant Joe O'Callaghan is to be one of the keynote speakers at an upcoming healthcare process mapping conference at The Royal Society in London on June 22nd. Entitled “Process Mapping Analysis and Redesign”, the conference provides a practical guide to improving the patient experience through Process Mapping, Analysis, and Redesign. It focuses on how to process map and how to implement the necessary changes to emerge.
Process mapping, analysis, and redesign has become part of the continued focus on building healthcare processes around the people to improve efficiency and implement change. It acts as an improved service which both enhances relationships with patients and the quality of working life for staff in that service. It’s shown to be a natural pathway in to the way that directorates and organisations operate, and through this encourages new ways of working, facilitates sustainable quality improvements and strengthens communication.
The title of Joe’s presentation is “Redesigning Services around the Patient: Lean Thinking in NHS”. In this presentation, Joe will explain Lean Thinking, how it can benefit patients, and how to involve patients and the public in any Lean Healthcare implementation. The presentation will also include case study examples of a number of successful Lean Healthcare projects that the Leading Edge Group has led and facilitated.
